Recommend me an amp

[NJJK70 10+ year member]

Looking for amp suggestions for a single Polk MM1040DVC. It has dual 4 ohm voice coils and is rated for 350 watts RMS and 700 watts peak. I was looking at an Alpine MRV-500 a buddy has. Is that overkill for this sub? Thanks in advance!

No its not too much, just lower the gains if the sub sounds stressed or gets hot. Its a good amp for your sub.
