Quart Focal or JL

I am looking for the best SQ sub out there. IT needs to be able to get up and play around pretty loud. Not sure on numbers but i would guess aroud 120db??? Anyways I have Q series MB Quarts up front and Premium series in the back. The car is a 95 BMW M3. Alpine Head unit (new one blue lights). I also have 3 10W0's in a pre fab box in the back. They put out plenty of bass (can anyone guess what i am hitting, im not sure) but they are plenty loud, they however are not clean enough and don't get down low enough (thats why i am looking at a larger sub ie 12"). Thanks in advance!!

i know this is perhaps an over-suggested sub, but you heard a brahma? you could probably get by with a single 10, or if you want a 12... if youre an sq nut, they deliver...if youre a bass monkey, they still satisfy. i have 2 15 brahma's, and couldnt be happier. more than enough volume to kill my hearing in short order, but smooth enough to make you wanna turn the volume knob that 1 extra step...

If you are going to pump a sh*t load of wattage into your subs, get the inifnity perfect 12.1's. I know they blow a lot but thats because fools are trying to push 350 or 400 watts rms into them. They have AMAZING sound quality. For speakers, or component systems I like:

Polk momo

Alpine type R

BOSTON ACOUSTIC

Infinity

Focal

MB QUART

W H A T S O U N D S T H E B E S T T O Y O U

Try to go to an audio shop and listen to what you are going to buy before you buy it. If you can't then go with a brand that you know audiophiles love. Good luck with your system and check out ebay for all your stuff (I live on ebay).

 
Yeah i have never heard the Focal or Quart sub. Jl's i ahev heard and the new W6v2's sound pretty good but i am not sure what else is out there. I have a 500/1 monoblock for JL and Q series quarts. Just looking for the best SQ. Is there anywhere to listen to a brahma??? Thanks

i dont know how many people there are on this board with the brahmas, but you might check on soundillusions.net to see if anybody is near you...as there are a LOT of people over there with them.

Nah I think a IDMAX is like 250 isent it??? and no ident go look it up so you might be right:p

 
I was mainly looking for the focal quart or jl. Are you saying the brahma of idmax have better SQ? Or better SPL? I am looking for SQ.

well, just speaking from my personal experience, i liked the brahma's a LOT more than the w7's...just comparing sq. i also liked the price a lot better...well that was, until i got a 2nd brahma, and have no money to get bigger amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

now, from here-say, the idmax has a lot more midbass, and less low end than a brahma, but if you have pretty good sized midbasses, then i would say go for the low end of the brahma. if you dont get to hear at least 2 of the 3 subs (w7, brahma, idmax) before buying, you are missing out. id SERIOUSLY try to find somebody who has a decent sq setup with those subs before buying, or you might regret it a lot.
