i have a 18" 4 ohm pyle sub that is 1800 peak watt and was wondering how much watt amp i need to hook up to it to get the best sound out of it. Right now I have a Lanzar 1600 max pro but i dont know if that is enough for it
don't waste your time. that lanzar would be lucky to put out 500 rms. and the pyle sub would be lucky to handle that. i ran both when i was in high school, before i could get decent advice from the net.and of u 2 dawgin it have u ever ran it??? prolly not LOL
they have a bad rep.
if u have it go with it. the ma's im messin with have a bad rep and max at 1600 supposibly and ive givin 1500 daily as loud as it goes and hvae yet to have a failure.
id like to get my hands on one of those pyles to test on it to see how it does... where did u get it and how much???
you cannot compare a pyle with an L7.traded 2 15" lanzar max pro for that speaker it hits pretty **** good the way its setup right now so i dont see why everyone is dawgin on them but i had a thought to trade it all in for a 15" L7 just figuring out what would be best setup
i think you're about at the limit for that sub. it's kinda hard to tell with cheaper companies because they use max power ratings, which mean nothing. i would guess that the amp and sub are pretty close though. if you aren't going to upgrade both, i would stick with what you have and maybe build an enclosure for the sub to get the most out of it. it's the cheapest option and probably the most effective to get more output.i know that a L7 will hit harder than a pyle thats not the point... the question was what would be a suitable amp for this sub
you go ahead and do that. i have owned both. i had a single polk 200 watt rms sub easily outdo 2 pyles. and polk isn't even the best around.sure u can... they are both built like shit just one sounds worse than the other.... both seem to be quiet subs.
but i still wanna play with a couple of the pyles to see what they are capable of so i can laugh at people who say they cant handle such and such power and they dont get loud and ect.....
pretty much all the people that are not realists.
well finally a realist on the forums....i think you're about at the limit for that sub. it's kinda hard to tell with cheaper companies because they use max power ratings, which mean nothing. i would guess that the amp and sub are pretty close though. if you aren't going to upgrade both, i would stick with what you have and maybe build an enclosure for the sub to get the most out of it. it's the cheapest option and probably the most effective to get more output.
