Putting together a system for my '15 f250...opinions??

Ok so The truck is a 2015 f250 diesel. It's a towing monster, but the stereo is lacking big time. It's an xlt, so no upgraded factory stereo or nav. However it does have Fords Sync, which works pretty good compared to aftermarket radio bluetooth I've used jn the past.

Have done some research and wanted to get some opinions on this system. Haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet, so don't feel bad if you wanna bash any of these products. Won't hurt my feelings.

Head unit: gunna try it out stock and see how I like it. Looks cleaner this way, and I love being able to use the factory Bluetooth. I have big noisy tires, and most aftermarket Bluetooth radios pick up a lot of background noise.

Speakers: Image Dynamics XS57 up front and I was gunna throw in some ID 5x7 coaxials in the rear for some fill. (Or something comparable). Plan on running the front speakers like a coaxial and leaving the tweeters mounted to the speaker/driver. Don't have factory tweeters, and don't wanna get into molding tweeter mounts.

Price for xs57 $299. Price for rears $100

Sound deadening: plan on deadening the front doors only.

Speaker amp: Arc audio xdi 600.4 read some great reviews about this amp, and it's right about max for my amp budget. $450

Subs: 2x Sundown Audio SD-3 10" I had a pair of the SA 8s in my last truck and they got super loud. Def worth every penny. $200x2=$400

Sub amp: Skar audio 1500.1 Same amp I used from my last build on the sa8s. Talked to sundown about this, and the tech acted like the amp should be plenty for those sd3s, he just said to not go crazy with the gains.

Already have the amp, so I can save some $$

Converter: Audio Control LC6i. Was told this should work for my setup if I wanted to keep the factory radio. Opinions? $120

Wire: was gunna go with KnuKonceptz OFC 0 gauge for the Skar and I was planning on running a separate 4 gauge for the arc amp. Not sure if that's overkill. Was also planning on using all KnuKonceptz RCAs and speaker wire price $140-$160

Sub box: I have a local guy that can build me one, but I was looking online and there is some pretty cheap deals for 5/8 mdf pre fab sealed boxes.(ground shaker) I imagine there wouldn't be much difference from a custom mdf box or a pre fab that's made for the truck. They all fit behind the seat and fit 2-8s or 10s firing foward. The air space required for the sd10s is .5 cubic foot per sub, and the sub box is around 1.3 cubic feet. Thinking that should work

Price: $150

I would really appreciate your opinions. Good or bad. My last system I was super unhappy with the sound. Thought I planned everything out, but went cheap on a couple items and I think I paid the price. Hoping this won't happen with this system. I plan on having the truck for a long time, so I want it to sound good and last the life of the truck. Thanks again for any help!

Don't waste money on a prefab box man. I can hook you up with a custom ported made from birch ply. I'm also local to you. Pm me if you're interested. With those tires I highly recommend deadening the whole cabin.

I would totally be up for that. Only problem is space. I don't think I can fit a ported box big enough for 2-10s behind the seat. Unless I went with 8s in a ported box. Totally against sealed boxes?

just pigeonholing yourself out of a lot of output. Two mean 8s in a ported will absolutely slam vs 2 10s sealed.

You might want to hook up a random sub in the car and have it face up, down, left right and see which direction will get you loud and build your ported box with the port facing that direction. Every trunk will need a different design and that test will give you the best results.

Yea I feel yea. But they gotta be small 8s. No more then 5" deep. Possibly less. Like 4.75

And sundown told me those SD-3s were designed for sealed boxes. ???

I mean you could do it but it might not be as impressive as the SA 8 loudness wise, but it should sound pretty good and get pretty loud.

Yea I figured that. But unless I wanna do a custom box under the seat, I don't have a lot of options . (I have a Great Dane, and throw him in the back all the time. Would hate to have a big sub box on the floor taking up space)

Looking at sundown E series, and the 8 requires 5"+ mounting depth and .5-.75 cubic foot of air space.

You can tune the 8s but you will lose bandwidth. The 10s can play 20-100hz.

That's what you have to decide. Bump in output but less bandwidth. No bump more bandwidth
Ok. Thanks. Any input on the rest of the system? Thanks for taking time to help
