putting a system in an s10 **need help**

ok, my friend just got a 94 reg. cab s10 and he's looking at buying a new system.....he currently has a profile 100sx (240 rms bridged IIRC), but he wouldn't mind selling it to get something bigger. He would like to keep his jack behind his seat if at all possible so lets get started!!

He's interested in a small system that will give him a decent bump, we were thinking (1)L58, or (2)re 8's, he would have to buy a new amp of course, but this isn't a problem....can anyone tell me what 2 re's would compare to spl wise?what would be louder, the L58 or the 2 re's??i measured his truck and came up with

1.3xxft^3 so he won't loose any leg room, any help on these comparisons or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

i have 2 jl w0's with sealed boxes that would work i had it in my reg cab. lemme know

or if you want 8's check the rl-i from SS and the DD 8's

The 8" L5 will probably be louder.The RE's aren't that impressive.

i am happy with JL's that i run...2 maybe 3 JL W0's would be sweet..maybe 10's...do the w0's come in 8's?...yeah DD is good as well...prolly 200 for 2 8's from the website...300 for CF dustcap...thye bump hard..as for amp..you will need like a 300 to 400rms amp depends on subs...and ohm loads...hope this helps

Well actually just the empty box of course. It will fit any extended cab S-10 from 1998 and up. Since I no longer have my S-10 that I built it for, I figured somebody else would have more use for it than myself. The box is actually covered in the OEM cloth that is in the center of the seats (beige of course) and the Eclipse Stickers could be pealed off of the brushed aluminum.

BTW, the box is 1.8ft^3 vented to 30Hz with about 33.5in^2 of port area. It was rediculously loud:naughty:

IMo thats completely wrong, A shop here in Fresno CA deals RE and they have installed alot of RE 8 setups that sound great imo

the RE8 is a great woofer for the money, it's just not the best by any means. You can pick up an ascendant assasin that will get just as loud with much better sq.

No i'm not biased i've owned a buttload of RE stuff lol

nah, he's dead set on the L58, he wanted to be different and have that wow factor of an 8 and seeing how the whole system (box, sub, carpet) is going to cost him like $110, it's a pretty good budget system, i'll try and post pics but it'll be a few weeks......box suggestions?i was thinking 1-1.2ft^3 tuned to say 35??
