Purple motor oil??

Royal Purple? Ive used it, I actually saw it on the shows on Spike "Horsepower TV" and tried it, yeah its kinda pricey but I can tell a difference

Synthetic oil is more slippery that regular oil.

So all the worn seals and what not might leak with the synthetic.

Thus creating blue smoke out the tail pipe from " blow by"

A high mileage oil has additives in it to decrease this from happening.

You could always try it, i dont think its going to hurt anything.

And even if you get some blow by you can just add more oil.

i`ve heard something bout that..probs with the seals, rings ect ect and its basicly the same with newer cars*under 10k*i cant remember for the life of me,where i heard that from..so i don`t realy know if it`s bs or not..but if that is the case..could you just add some regular oil to the synthetic to sort like"even things out"?

Thats why they have synthetic blend.

I put some synthetic in my old burb. It had 100+ on it. Didnt cause any problems other than the oil gear was shot and the engine had no oil pressure.

It could be B.S, thats just what ive heard as well.

Royal Purple is not new. We have used it in our off-road trucks and our drag cars for years. It is good stuff. I also like Kendall GT, it is a forest green color. Imusually use the Kendall when doing engine assembly.

I run full synthetic in the van, no problems with leaking...145k+ miles.

The oil pressure has always run high in that for some reason; my dad's truck with the same 4.9L/I6 has always run on the low side.

royal purple is good stuff, use it in some race motors i've helped build

one thing to remember when buying a new vehicle is to avoid immediately switching to synthetic as its high lubrication and anti wear characteristics can actually prevent proper break-in, seals, bearing surfaces, proper metal surface mating etc.... just wait til you put a few miles on, that is unless its a vehicle that recommends synthetic immediately. many engines go through a breakin procedure at the factory and/or are filled with a specifically formulated oil to be run until first oil change time.

edit: i also really like amsoil personally
