PRV Audio 8MB450 8" Midbass Woofer 8 Ohm thoughts

Good day, new to the site and decided to join after reading your question. We test a lot of pro audio drivers as we make our own little cabinets, more as a hobby. So when we come across a line like PRV, we like to play and test them. Easy thing to do at this price point.

We bought the 8MB600, 8MB450, 8MB500-NDY and the 8MR400-NDY. Here is the short of it when it comes to our unofficial review.

8MB450- Beefy, and handled the power well. Not the best vocals, but played very nice midbass.

8MR400-NDY - light weight neo driver, so light weight I thought it was cheap, but the testing proved me wrong on that one. Upper level vocals and highs, so nice if you want that. Not so much if you want midbass. Designed as a midrange.

8MB500-NDY - Hands down the best of the 8" models. Light due to it being neo, but played incredibly clear vocals and did well in midbass ranges. Number 1 in our book, and we ordered more.

8MB600 - Cast basket, expensive, played well, but did not fit our needs at all. Beefy and took the power ok, but after listening to the 500-NDY version, we were much happier there.

Hope it helps

Jay.
