Pros and Cons: Type R VS RL-P

Rl-p will sound better than the Type-R, and it will get louder in a sealed box than the Type-R.

In a ported box, it comes down to design and power. Either one could get "louder" to the ear (for a daily driver, what a sub hits on the mic is irrelevant). But neither will be lacking in output. You have to remember, to some people "loud" doesn't happen till 150db, which is WAY WAY WAY beyond anything necessary for musical output. My Rl-p sealed has well more than sufficient output for daily purposes. And an Rl-p ported will have well more than sufficient output for daily music purposes.

So, don't let the term "loud" confuse you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The Rl-p definitely isn't quiet.

We did tests of the type-r vs. the RL-P, the type-r killed it in SPL. Seriously no contest.
The RL-P is marketed as an SQL sub, and for good reason. Although SQ is subjective, i'd venture to say the RL-P has better SQ.
i forgot if you and speakerking can't get a sub loud then it just isn't a loud sub.

no one said it wasnt a loud sub, juss not as loud as the R to the ear nor the meter. nuthin wrong wit the sub, im sure its better than the R sealed, cuz the R sux sealed imo. if i was goin sealed it would be between the L7 and RL-P. not bashin it or anything, juss sayin "our" terms of loudness, the rl-p isnt want we were lookin for.

We do as much testing as we can?

I never said the RL-P wasn't loud, i just said it is not as loud as a type-r CAN be. Being loud to one person isn't always the same as loud to another. The RL-P can surely be loud for some people, but for people like me and mark, doing a 140 in an SPL-type setup just ain't gonna cut it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But for the average joe, sure the RL-P could suffice, especially if they are leaning more towards the SQ side. But, throw a type-r in a proper box and watch as the RL-P gets its *** kicked on the meter. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And yeah, the RL-P will kick the type-rs *** if both are sealed. The R is definitely not a sealed box sub.

So take your useless posts somewhere else.

well i've had my rl-p's metered and they did quite well but i'm about done talking on the subject.

You can't say something like that without giving me a number. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

95 jeep grand cherokee, new ac meter, 2 12's, 3.6 cubes net tuned 32 hz., off a pg tantrum 1200.1, 41 hz. tone, 149.3 on the dash. the first time i did a 143 but i noticed i forgot to glue the one side of my box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif i didn't have any deadener and this was a daily driver and i didn't experiment with any other tones.

I used to have 2 rl-p's ported also, and I was feeding it 600 watts rms each. I'm thinking about getting a pair of type r's, how well do they perform with only 600 watts? Will it be just as loud as the rl-p's?

if that score is tru, good score, but it maybe kinda hard 2 believe. but good score mang

go to dukes car stereo in saginaw michigan, if you do not believe. why do you and your clan tell me what kind of numbers i can put up in my car? also i have to make a correction. i think it was the 39 hz. port i used. the box had 2 different ports so i don't remember which port i had in.

Sblazer is a little more reluctant to believe things than I am.

Throw that car on the TL and see if it makes any difference. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
