I'm thinking of setting up my system something like this:

newscheme.gif

I would be adding the MB Quart QSD-164 midbass drivers in custom kicks to help make up for the general lack of midbass that most MB Quart comps suffer from. These would be run off a Nakamichi PA2004 amp (100x4 @ 4ohm), since the Eclipse 33250 is only 2-channel. That amp would then be powering a pair of JL 8W7's mounted in the rear deck for a bit of extra midbass/bass support. I'd also be adding a second 12W7, and both 12's would be running off an Orion XtrPro2400 (figuring I'd get a bit over 2000x1 @ 1.5ohm). I think this would pretty well round-out my system and allow me to compete in SQ and SPL comps;the Orion amp and the 12W7s would be used only for the SPL comps, as the 8W7s would be plenty of bass for the SQ competition, right?

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Well, the way my system is now (see sig for details), I have the fader set to +7 to the front (ranges from -15 to +15) to keep the bass under control. I haven't heard the QSD-164 in action yet, but I'm not sure it would provide quite enough punch to completely satisfy my SQ needs. So the 8W7s would be there to provide just a bit more punch. If I do go ahead with this, it's going to be interesting trying to work out the volume for the deck-mounted enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Anybody else have any thoughts?
