what about switching the tags at menards from cheap 3/4 plywood to 3/4 birch? I would never do that but..

Nice Build so far.

That tag switching works 100% if you go to home depot with self checkout. Bought myself 5 sheets of 3/4 MDF for 27$

They wont let you "Self Checkout" Lumber. There is no way to scan the code, they dont have the little scanner gun at the Self Checkout stands.

where i go at lowes they just got self checkouts and the 3/4" mdf switch to cheap shit i forgot what it was but i got a sheet of mdf for 10 bucks then my friend went to do the same thing and they took it out of the self checkout system so he went to an old lady and she rang it up for the cheap shit because old ladies + wood = dumb *****es lol

At the lowes around here, you could do that easily. The guys/girls at the wood checkout usually don't know crap, they just scan whatever's there and ring it up.

I do self checkout every time I buy MDF. Of course, I have them cut the wood for me, so it is easy to scan a small piece with the barcode on it; I assume you wouldn't be able to with the entire 4 x 8 sheet...

The self checkout thing works!!! I got a whole piece of MDF up on the scanner and slid it across it was easy too.
