I'm pretty set on trying to build a trunk baffled ported box (using whole trunk as a box and not actually building a box around the baffle)

Any suggestions or things you'd suggest I watch out for? Obviously I know I have to seal it up really well, but any particular things you'd warn me about or like to make sure I pay attention to/etc? You know...things I wouldn't expect, or maybe leaky areas you didn't notice or particular problem areas

No I haven't and I'm not sure how many cubes sealed it is...lol.

There are holes everywhere, it's **** near impossible to seal the trunk. Then it's hard as hell to get an accurate idea of the volume to try to tune it...Make it so that you can swap the port. Chances are you'll end up changing it alot to tune it where you really want it.

That and get a subwoofer with a very very stiff suspension and or a ton of xmax, otherwise the power handling will be 1/2-3/4's of what it would normally be. If you feed it RMS or more, you will probably bottom it out! You will definitely need a subsonic filter set pretty high and it will not play the low freq's very loudly.

The bigger box may help you attain higher efficiency, but if you want to get loud, just make a box with the manufacture recommendations or only 3-4 cubes, with a large high tuned port.

Output went up, because, I sealed a lot of holes, and put in the missing screws that I skimped out on because they hit the MDF braces and stopped, impossible to tighten. However the power handling went way up, but I don't have another amp yet.

I was going to primer the doors today, but a storm was right on top of me and was getting ready to rain.

I've decided to wrap them in vinyl, I think it will work out well, there is a local place I'm going to check out when I get both doors about ready.
