Project, 16 8's in a Bandpass IB Clamshell...In a Stratus.

Looks awesome man, good job!!!

BTW have you considered sealing off the back area at all and turning it into a sealed clamshell?

IMO I think you would gain output if you did, Im sure they would handle the power better as well.

One thing I was wondering is with how its setup right now, doesnt the opening of the "clam" act more like a ported chamber for the woofers, and they are more or less, ported into the car and firing into the trunk (just imagine them inverted in your head to see what Im getting at).

Thats how it seems to me, just because of the fact that the trunk is much bigger than the "clam" and there would be more pressure inside of it. Just my assumption from the design since its not something you usually see. But im interested to see how it performs.

haha I have not even been looking around for comps to goto lol.

Busy working on the car still //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So far I haven't even started sanding.

I've just been smoothing the filler layer by layer, starting with small golf ball sized amounts. Hardens in about 10 minutes, and continue the process constantly.

However, I got some of the filler in my eye before I mixed it with hardener, and was kinda painful. I washed it out and the pain subsided for the most part. I've gotten resin in my eye before, but this stuff hurt quite a bit.

i don't understand mounting subs this way, is there any cancelation going on? what would happen if you invertly mounted the top 8 subs? if theres enough room that is...?

I'm pretty sure I would notice any major cancellation going on, but the output does not make me believe there is any problems. inverting them wouldn't do anything except change the phase, and you don't have to invert them to do that.\

The waves should combine and exit the opening of the clamshell.

your bondo skills really scare me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

im hoping they come out better than im thinking the outcome will be......

You disappoint me. My second time playing with filler. Sanding can fix anything. I started out making a bit too much and it started hardening up on me. But there was some large gaps I had to fill because I ended up cutting glass back after doing a test fit on the doors.
as much as i likereq hes been kind of a douche lately.....from saying hed **** a girl to that stupid comment here to saying my setup was gay..

dont let him bother you bro.

i like sanding down to a decent smoothness, then suede
