Problem with W7

Clipping is when the sub is pulling to much power for the amp to produce correct?
subs do not "pull" power. they take it and play it.

your amp is trying to produce more power than it can. which leads to a squarewave called clipping. when this happens it can distort or lose all strenth in the bass and sound flat.

actually I doubt that's the problem, I have the same box in my trunk right now that's a re-baffled mtx dual 12" 7500 series sub enclosure the port tapers from 1.5" to 3" it's tuned a little high but get's pretty loud for a pre-fab. and op that box is more then large enough for that single 12".
Ahh okay good, thanks for all this info as well

no when your telling the amp to make more power then it's capable of, they don't know how much power they can make only what you set them to.
Ahh alright, so let see.... My main concern was that the sub was damaged. It isnt though from what i've been reading online.. There's no scratching or anything, when pushing on the cone. So for now, I'll simply turn the gain down from max and leave it at about 50-75% and I'll get a bigger amp. Thanks so much guys!

Nope, no black marks or anything. I just got worried from the 'clipping' it seems. Thanks for your help as well man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I'm goona stick around here, this forum seems entertaining. I love checking out peoples builds. WA has idiots in Ricers with like steel series subs and pyramid amps. So it was fun checking out all these builds. Orion seems like a really good brand and JL seems good but over priced.
