problem with SX pole vent?

powered it up..heard scratching at low volume..so i took it off power and pushed down on the cone to mimic as if power was going to it..as it went up and down there was a scratchin noise coming from the magnet/polevent area..sub works fine but the scratching is noticeable when playing.

anyone know what is wrong or how to fix it?

DMM the coils, see what they read.

Your coil is rubbing. Sound like it's misaligned. Is it brand new?

Sounds like the coil is rubbing.

I assume this is a dual 2 right?

IIRC the coils should read around 2.4 on the dmm.

nope was reconed by a competitor over at carsound.com and i bought it from him right after the recone...its been atleast 6 months since i bought it..still no amp but i finally just threw it in my friends car today and put 500 watts on it to see how it was..then i heard the rubbing

can i fix this problem without getting a new recone?

recones from RE cost the same if you were to buy the kit and do it yourself, plus shipping

Theres a shop in stratford that sells RE recones and everything.

They can do it for you if you dont want to.
