Problem with protect mode

I just got a brand new alpine mrv-t420 amp, hooked in all up to 2 12 pioneers, it worked fine for a day or so and now when i turn the volume up the amp will go in protect mode. The gain and bass boost are all turned down, all the connections are good. Could it be something with my alternator or battery, my alternator does not whine at all, and my battery is small but pretty new. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

do you have it bridged? the amp is probably not 2-ohm stable bridged... also check your ground...

I don't have the amp bridged I have it in 2 channel mode, and also I tried about three different grounds and it still went into protect mode.

If you can, test another amp duplicating the settings you have now and see what happens. If it works, most likely there is something wrong with your amp.
