Problem with power

Hi all, I have a 300W Rockford Fosgate P3001 driving a pair of Rockford Fosgate 12" subwoofers. The amp is running them at 300W at 2Ω and has been working with them for quite some time. While listening to music one day the bass just kind of dropped off (no loud popping or anything like what happened when I fried my first amp awhile back). When I checked the amp, the Thermal light was on, but Protect was not. The amp was cool to the touch so it wasn't temperature issues.

Checked the battery and I'm getting 14V on and 12V off. Checked for wiring issues and didn't see anything. Made a new ground and it didn't help. Put the multimeter on the power and ground coming from the amp and reading 12V off but only 0.25V on. Opened up the amp to see if anything looked faulty and everything still looks pretty clean, no burns, busted capacitors, or anything. Anyone know what the issue might be?

Try different subs. May have broken the connection along the way. Just had that happen today. Wire came off inside of box. Good luck and hope it is that simple.

Blown fuse in amp power cable. Replace it - even if it ohmed good.

Or bad connection at battery or distro block - remove, clean and retighten.

Isolate all the wires connected to that amp, check if you pinched somewhere using a DMM in continuity tone mode. A cable shorting intermitently will also cause it heat up.

I'll replace the fuse tonight, already redid the connections on the battery. I haven't done a full pinch check but it is getting full power at both ends so I don't think that's the issue.

Finally got the time and money to purchase and install a new amp. I hooked it up today and it seemed to play for a few seconds and stopped again. Checked the voltages and at the amp I'm reading 7.5V going to the amp ground and 14V grounded to bare metal from the chassis. I don't see how I've already blown another amp which makes me think there is actually something wrong with my car. However, my battery was just replaced about a year ago and my alternator was repaired (maybe replaced, don't remember) about 1.5 years ago. I've tried using different grounds with little success. Anyone have an idea why even the new amp is not working?
