I have a pair of Pioneer Premier TS-A930P 6"x9" speakers in the back of my car. I have had them installed for only a few months now, and the right speaker sounds like it has static, or it sounds like something is rattling. First i thought it was something rattling in my car, but i made it where only the right rear speaker played and that was it. I played the LEFT rear speaker and it sounds great, i'm satisfied with it (in case you wanna flame me saying pioneer sucks monkey).... so anyone know the cause? I want to go in and check the speaker but i'd have to take out my seat and the rear deck cover thing which is quite some work.

Any responses appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

it could be that sumtin is loose back there...like 1 of the mounting screws jiggelin..I'd suggest taken the rear deck off and see whats going on back there....

pioneers aren't that bad..well worth the little money you pay for them..no flamage here!and if someone where to flame you about it they would deserve to be shot.

component speakers sometimes make that noise when someone turns up the bass too much. They arent made to move air and flex like a woofer even though dont get me wrong, they CAN. but they are built for more midrange frequencies. ( if its static, u might want to check your wires, maybe with a multi range tester to see if all your wires have proper continuity). And if u had them installed somewhere......keep the reciept because NOBODY is perfect, they might have been installed incorrectly by accident.

Umm....he doesn't have components mounted. If you had actually read the original post he very clearly states we are discussing a set of 6"x9" ovals.

torn eMericas~ It is very possible that your issue is as simple as a loose mounting screw or fastener for some sort of interior trim panel causing your rattling. That would be what I would investigate first.

Barring that, however, have a look at the tower which holds the mid/tweeters and see if it has worked its way loose just a bit. Two different sets of Pioneer ByNines have done that to me in the past - seemed like they weren't tightened properly from the factory. One was a set of oooooolllddd 3-way Pioneers (don't remember what model) and the other set was my Premier TS-E6990 ByNines. Turned 'em over, (this was the bit I hated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif ) puncture the sticker over the magnet with a Phillips screwdriver and locate the mid/highs tower screw in the middle of the magnet. Tighten it up and viola! No more rattling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
