When my subs are plugged in and my amp is playing a 50 hz tone, The DMM says the voltage goes up to about 10 (as I steadily raise the gain) and then it starts going down into the negative, then it jumps up to 40?
I was setting the gains with my ipod / through the aux port, so I decided to connect my ipod via USB port.
The signal seems a lot stronger this way (I don't have to turn the gain all the way up to get rated power).
I set the gains without the speaker connected using a 50 hz tone recorded at 0db.
Then I shut my car off, plugged the subwoofer's wires into the speaker terminals, then checked the voltage the amp puts out, and it was WAY higher than when I tested it w/o the sub wired to it.
