Problem With MTX Amp?

I don't know what's wrong with my mtx 4250d amp. It powers on and it does power the infinity 1242W sub but you have to turn the gain ALL the way up and the bass boost at least half way up to get any output. I know the sub is wired correctly at 2 ohms.

My sister bought that amp when she was 16 then sold it to me then bought it back. We've had it for almost 5 years and powered more than 5 subs with it. I am suprised to hear you're having trouble with yours.

I have had several problems just like this with a few MTX amps. I had an older one a 6500D I believe, and it was very similar to this. It seemed to have no response with the gains set at a moderate level. You had to jack the gain to get any results, yet any other amp worked fine with the setup.

Then just a couple weeks ago a friend asked me to tune & tweak his setup with a newer MTX amp and his was set the same way when I looked at it. All the gains jacked up, boost all the way. We couldnt get any good response from the amp without the gains jacked, which really scared me.
