hey guys i think my alternator is starting to go but im not sure. before my voltage used to be about 13.6v at idle and would go up to 14.4v (~1500 rpm) when driving. now it sometimes idles at 11.9v usually 12.4 ish and while driving rarely gets above 14v (~1500rpm).

its a 200 amp mcr alt w/ lifetime warranty but i really dont want to hassle with swapping back to the stock alt and the back to the replacement. its a big job in my car.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sounds like it could be your alt, why not run it up to your local autozone/advance and let them check it? This doesn't mean they will give you the right answer, but it can't hurt.

If your voltage doesn't go over 13v there is something wrong, I'd check wiring, alternator, and batteries for problems. Good luck.

i removed the stingers the other day and am just running the stocker for temporary. im still having exactly the same problems as before, i just had my car inspected and im assuming they checked the alt...
