Problem with 9887

My 9887 decided to stop working today. Not the whole unit; just the transport. Pushing the eject button does nothing. The word "eject" appears on the display and the deck is as dead as a doornail. I've reset the unit, disconnected the battery to no avail. Everything works fine, except for the transport functions. Any ideas?m

I had a spring pop loose on my CDA-7941 and that caused a no eject function. It was installed in my cousin's truck when he flipped it over AND it worked fine in his replacement truck for a few months before encountering the no eject issue.

Have asked Alpine about this issue? You could take the faceplate apart and check the button and possible corrosion on contact points. If its not in the faceplate then the motor and faceplate moving assembly may be jammed or broken in the main unit. Its possible that a spring did break. If your not comfortable taken your player apart then contact Alpine or nearest authorized service center.
