Problem with 1999 Ford Ranger w/stock stereo please help!!!

1999 Ford Ranger with stock stereo and aftermarket wire kit.

I purchased a second hand amp from my buddy at work. It functions fine but I have a little problem the bass cuts in and out in CD mode I have had my stereo out and checked for lose wires but nothing. I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar issue. Or if anyone could help me pinpoint the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions I had to stop at Best Buy to get my antenna cable end replaced. The man found out my CD player is shot. I plan on saving up some scratch and purchasing an after market one.
