RCA cable going bad? Will it affect a mono signal to a sub?

I need an expert opinion on this. A couple weeks after the install I would get full sound out of the left speakers and a muted sound out of the right side. After several hours of testing and wondering what is wrong, I determined one of my rca cables went bad. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I was wondering if this will make a difference feeding a 2ch amp bridged to a sub? I'm not looking forward to tearing apart the truck again just to replace one bad rca cable. Will the sub channel be affected with only a left signal from the rca?

FYI,

The hu has 2 sets of rca's and I ran 2 cables along with all new 16guage speaker wire. I had 1 set of rca's to splitters to a 4ch amp and the other set of rca's going to a 2ch amp for a sub. The bad cable was on the 4ch amp and this is how I discovered the L/R balance issue. I swapped the cables to each amp and wondering if the sub channel will lose anything.

Here is my eclectic mix of car audio in a 2000 gmc ext cab. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Most amps do not need two rca's when put into bridged mode, some do the summing internally..Try using only the good rca, and see if it works porperly..If it doesn't, grab a y-adaptor, hook it up to the good working rca and plug it into both rca inputs on the amp, so you don't have to rip the car apart again..

Or, as mentioned, pull the radio out and check the rca connection there..

Thanks for the help guys. I checked the back of the hu and the connections are good. I even tested each pair of pre outs one at a time and it was the same bad cable showing the problem. As of now, I have both the left and right(bad) rca plugged into the sub amp and it does work. I will try splitting the good (left) signal and see if that provides any benefit and will post results. I just didn't know if I was losing any sound due to the single rca to the sub amp.

I was just expecting a little more output from the e8, but maybe I need a 10" sub.
