I just had an Alpine CDA-9885 installed. According to the manual, it reads info off CDs and ID3v1 & v2 tags off MP3s. But, I've played several CDs and it has not shown any song info. I called tech support. They said many CDs do not have the right information. I put ID3 tags on MP3 copies of songs. Still no info. Alpine tech support is sending me a CD that supposedly has compatible tags (to show the unit does work). I haven't received it yet.
I don't care as much about original CDs, since I'm going to burn MP3 CDs to play in the car. I do want the tags on those to work. Any suggestions?
