Problem(s) with Audiobahn amp

Hey. I have an Audiobahn a1300hct amp running a 15" Kicker L7. It was running fine when I first got it installed. No problems, never shut down on me, everything was running fine. Then one day it just turned off on me. I took it to a near by shop the guy started messing with the distribution block and he got it running again. I left and it kept working fine. Few days passed and it happened again. Took it to the same guy and we switched the fuses in the distribution block. Left the store with it running fine again. An hour later I was going to my friend's house it just turned off on me. I tried switching the fuses and that didn't work. I looked around and found the remote wire was loose. Screwed it back in and it still didn't turn on. Now its only turns when I turn the car on but the amp lights up red instead of blue like it's supposed to and then just shuts down. I took it back to the shop today and told the guy what's been going on. He said he will take a look at it tomorrow and that it may be blown. He said its lighting up red because it is in protect mode. What do you guys think???

^^ My boy from school, he came by my house the other day and i checked his wiring, he didnt have a fuse holder under the hood instead he has a fused distro block fused to 70a, then from there it went straight to the amp, i was like whoa u crazy. Then i noticed his grounding for the amp was like 5ft away and was not grounded in metal, he had screwed a hole in a plastic area and screwed it down with a screw. I told him id re-wire his whole car and if it was still going into protect mode then its the amp.

My thoughs were that he was sending the amp too much current and that it was kicking it to protect mode. Before he had the fused distro under the hood fused to 70a, he told me he had it fused to 40a. I guess we will have to find out when we re-wire his whole shit.

Someone clear this up, if the amp was blown it wouldnt be turning on at ALL, thats why i keep thinking its the current flow. He has 4ga wire BTW.

Can you try it in someone else's car to see if it is indeed the amp?

Well i dont think its blown since ITS turning on, we might have to try it in some one elses car, or re-wire his whole expedition over.

It could be shot, even if it goes into protect. Rip everything out and reinstall it.

Tommorow first thing we will re-wire everything the right way, not the cuban way, if not then i will make him get a Orion 2500D for both his L7 15's.
