heres the issue:

Front speakers are giving a high buzz sound, no music. (I just installed them through my amp).

Here are specs/info:

Headunit - Lanzar SDBT77N 7" TOUCHSCREEN

Front Speakers - Alpine SPR-57C

Amp - Rockford Fosgate P5002

Speaker Wire - 14 Gauge

Amp Wires - B plus and ground are properly connected and working fine

Remote wire is hooked through fuse box

***this could be issue - RCA cables are connected, but there is only 1 subwoofer output from headunit (so i'm using a splitter cable (2 males to 1 female) to connect the R/L RCAs to headunit). Do I need a special RCA? or something?

***another possible issue - I bought the speaker wire from RadioShak, but it might be pre-something, I dont believe that is the issue but just posting it.

there was no sound at all when i had my amp on LP (Low Pass) but the buzz was there when it was on (HP and AP - High Pass and All Pass). Freq is at 80Hz. Gain is low (tried adjusting but buzz got louder).

Any help? or need more info?

One of your RCA's may be touching to chasiss behind your deck. Tape up your exposed RCA couplings. . . Make sure you have a correct ground. Grind off paint, securly bonded to chasiss. use same size or even bigger wire for your ground. . .

sounds like a ground loop noise. do you have your power and rca's running seperate form each other?

x2 You can also check by getting a rca connector for your Ipod and hooking it to the amp and see if you have sound.

I have them both tucked in under plastic in my car at same spot... if thats what you are asking..
you should ALLWAYS run rca's and power/ground wires on seperate sides of the car/truck if at all poss. that and what was said above are the most common ways noise gets intradused into car systems.

well just a heads up... i used an RCA jack from my zune, and it works... so when tomorrow comes... i know that its either my RCA cables ****, they are too close to the B+ wire, or its the subwoofer output that I used a splitter cable on... thanks fellas

ok so heres the update/situation...

I did the RCA test, and hooked my Zune up to my amp and I got sound, music was clear...

I moved my RCA cable... and tested with my headunit, still the same problem... so which of the two problems is it...

Bad RCAs??????

or

Can't use this splitter cord (1 male to 2 females)

and i need a special cord that goes from 1 male to two males?

Because the Subwoofer output is only 1 output female from the H/U....
