Problem Alpine Headunit

I think bad @$$ chevy was saying he only turned it up to 25. The headunit does go to 35. I think it has a volume limit deal on it though doesn't it?

26 is fcking HIGH on an alpine. I cant stand to listen to it above 22 AT ALL, and on mine thats where it starts to distort a little anyway. Like i said, mine stays at 12-13, 18 max. And honestly im not sure what it goes up to, i thought it went to 35, but badasschevy is saying 25 and thats the same unit, so maybe it does only go to 25. Could have sworn it went higher then that though.

im saying loud through my speakers, not even amplified. I dont have anything in my truck except the alpine unit right now, and it doesnt go past 18, and thats with the windows down. But it could be slightly different for the different units.

Also depends on HIS speakers and THEIR efficiency, can't compare apples to oranges.

wait so in the equation i have two speakers do i jsut do it for one? My amp does 750w RMS x1 at 2 ohms but I ahve two speakers but i just did

sqrt (750 x 2) which is like 37

Should i have done sqrt (375 x 2)

THANK you....duh! I have had mine at 27, but that was when I was just being stupid. My ears were ringing after....I usually keep it at 22 max with my speakers.

can someone help me with my equations and also the setting on my DMM

I have my DMM ON ACV 200. that sound right. I could only get my subs up to like 32 on the DMM and that was near full gain witha 50 hz tone..

.

So basically i have 750w x1 going from the amp to two 400w rms speakers at 2ohms. and then i have a four channel amp that is only using two channels of but it does 40w rms x4 so i did 40 x 4ohms my speakers sqrt of that whici sl ike 12 but once again i only got like a reading of 2 on my DMM.

So it makes me suspect i am doing somethign wrong

I seriously doubt it would make that large of a difference. But who knows, maybe it would.
