pretty sad

^^ Exactly!!! Have a regular line for these teenagers, made in Korea. Make a good ol' made in the USA amp for us old geezers that can afford some quality in our lives. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif kidding about the geezer comment....lol

I Agree with above 2 statements, although I am nowhere near old. :p

I'm happy to at least have my subs assembled in america. I try to run american made amps if my budget can support the buy (or if I find a good deal).

what bothers me is everyone has become so cheap that amps have to be made overseas.
i want made in the U.S.A. mono blocks that are put together by americans and have a higher quality!

i miss the 90s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/censored.gif.f9ad8e7c6db58c5530c5a0a20a3b5baf.gif
But would you pay the huge premium that would come with the american labour?

With all the talk about motor strength, let me throw something in here.

Anyone find any motor more powerful than a solo x 18? Let me know when you've tested one. Since the X 18 is no longer the loudest sub in the world, it would go without saying that motor force is indeed not everything.

Buying an amp used from someone online (not saying you are but in general) does not constitute supporting American assembled products. It supports the guy selling the amp. Keep that in mind those of you who are so into the "American Products only" idea, thinking you are actually helping car audio out.

Mmats and (new ) Atomic amplifiers both claim "MADE IN USA" and make large mono blocks, no love for them ??????
Can you point me to the facility in the US in which the components for the boards were created? I bet it's safe to assume the small components are still made in a foreign manufacturing plant and shipped here to be assembled.

On a personal note I could give a s**t either way , 100% of the product doesn't have to be made in 1 country for it to claim made in usa, for the most part it just has to be like 30% of the total production or something along those lines, you could ask GM,Ford,Chrysler,Craftsman,Snap-on,MAC tools ,MATCO tools , how much it takes to be deemed USA

I understand that completely. I was merely stating that some people take the "made in America" thing a bit too literally. I'm all for quality American products. I would like to see the job market in America thrive again. I (like many of you here), however, am too cheap to pay the pricetag that comes from something that is 100% American manufactured. Look at what happened to the auto industry. A GM truck costs 50,000. At first, it was to pay the ridiculous union salary of the people making the vehicle. Now, you get a lesser quality product (from Canada or Mexico more often than not), and it still costs 48,000 because GM is having to pay retirement fees out the wazoo to those employees that took early retirement packages when GM had to downsize in the bailout. I love me some GM. I don't think they have the greatest business practices in the world, however.

Cutting costs by outsourcing has been a consumer driven occurance, not manufacturer. I have said that on these forums many times to the people who would sit here and whine about all the "mainstream" audio companies going overseas. They did it because we forced them to. We stopped being loyal to a company and all started price wars amongst the businesses. We caused the crappy product and now we have the right to be mad at them? Certainly not.

I saw and moderately optioned Suburban at the Baltimore AutoShow with a price tag of $69,700. I wanted to punch the nearest Chevy rep for insulting every person that walked in the convention center.
