Premier 880PRS Microphone Question.

I just got my Priemeier 880 installed. Very cool. Wondering how I should have my amp set for auto EQ function using the microphone. I taped it to my drivers seat headrest as I selected drivers seat as a position on the deck. I have a RF 851X with 2 15's run in series on one half, and 2 sets of comps on the other. Should I set the filter to full range on the amp to allow the deck to tune? (front rca's going to the one half of the amp, running 2 sets of comps, sub out to the other half of the amp). Should I set the amp independantly and let the microphone tune from there? Keep in mind too that the deck has no rear channel hooked up, so when the microphone tests them, it hears nothing and moves on. What would be the best way to have the settings to allow the microphone and deck to tune the system the finest?

sorry i cant help you, but i was thinking of getting that deck, whats this microphone your talking about, the cd player has a microphone that listens to your music and sets the eq itself?

What I did with mine, and it worked very well is this...

Correctly set your gains for your system.

Turn on any HP/LP filters where appropriate, deck and amps. LEAVE BASS BOOSTS OFF!

On your HU turn off your Comp and BMX.

Make sure your EQ is set to flat.

Run the AutoEQ, when it completes listen with comp and bmx off and on and see what you prefer. Adjust EQ any to compensate for the deck's autoEQ if you prefer.

It's that simple. None of the other details really matter, and the rear fill makes no difference, my deck ignores them as mine are missing too.

I have found that AutoEQ aint bad at all.

I take it I am correct in setting the seating position beforehand to "drivers seat", if in auto eq-ing for my position? And should I set bbe to off before running it? I've done it twice, and both times the deck set the eq to "Flat" which sounds good, but I expected it to adjust the EQ somewhat. Is this normal? Keep in mind the front channel has speakers playing out of the back, as well as the front (2 comp sets). Will sounds comming from diffrent ends of the car from the same channel effect the auto eq? Also, can anyone explain what "SLA" and "Compresion" are used for?

Yes having two complete sets of speakers running during test will definately mess it up, if you are running rear speakers, they need to be from the rear outputs on the Deck.

Thats the issue. I have both front and rear speakers hooked to the front RCA's. I have to do it that way, cause the subs are running off the other half of the amp. (until I can get another sub amp). So the front RCA speakers are playing from the front and the back. No speakers running from the rear RCA's.

don't play music when setting it. play pink noise.
It plays it's own noise...

Ok man, youre going to have to disconnect your rear speakers if you're going to use that function, they arn't necessary anyway, unless you got some crappy coaxs.
