I have a 1972 Jensen Interceptor, and about 16 years ago, I installed a Pioneer Premier DEH-880PRS. I still really like the way it looks and sounds, and I would prefer to keep the unit in the car.

I have used that CD/Receiver and all manner of interations, to the current unit in my system, the DEX-P99RS.

The DEH-P8xPRS series has a proprietary Pioneer IP bus input on the back of it, and as long as you're not using it, I think they actually make a USB/IP Bus adapter.

Keep in mind that it is only going to allow you to use a device such as PDP or your phone to input additional sources, not any additional functionality or controls.

I don't recall that Pioneer ever made the adapter, but do some research, and the prices range from $10.00 to $35.00. For these kinds of things, I almost always try to find a pioneer OEM adapter if they exist - otherwise, it's anybody's guess if they will do what they are supposed to do.
