Ppi Pcx 2400

The general opinion around here is that the PPI amps built after the Power Class amps are not of the same quality as the older American made amps. However most of the people saying they are crap have never owned PPI amps (old school or new) so you may want to take that with a grain of salt as they say. I have not owned any of the new PPI amps so I can't give an opinion on how they compare. They are now owned by Directed who also Orion, Directed, ADS and a couple of others. They meet the standards for power output and the few shop owners that I have talked with say they are reliable amps. If you like it and it fits your budget and needs I doubt you would be disappointed with the amp. I would search some of the other forums and talk with some guys who have actually had their hands on the amps if you have concerns about the new PPI stuff.

i thought this was a old model amp, but then i wouldn't know.

I am pretty sure that the PCX amps were made before DEI bought them. From my experience with the PCX amps, they were every bit as strong and reliable as the PC amps. The DCX is where I'm not sure about.

I had a friend that had a PCX-2125 and it was every bit as powerful as my MTX 2300x that was rated at over 200rms a channel at 4 ohms and almost 900rms bridged. He also had the PCX 280 on his mids and highs and they sounded great. I loved his amps and have always held them high. I also messed around with some of the PC amps after that but they were all too expensive but were very nice.

I am pretty sure the PC amps were the last before the buyout but I could be wrong. As I said that doesn't mean that any of the others were not strong and reliable. I think the stigma attached to the later ones is somewhat undeserved.

PCX was the last before the buy out..They are damn good amps.....I plan on getting a few relatively soon..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

From what I understand, some of the PCX's were before and some were after the buy out. I have the PCX-440 that was after Directed got them. I wouldn't take anything for it. The inside looks as good as anything else I've seen. I'm happy with mine.

Scott.
