powering two amps

I need help deciding which option is better. I have two amps I want to power, a JL 300/4 and a 500/1 amp. I just wanted to know if it would be better to run a 0-2 gauge wire from the battery to a distributor block and run a 4 gauge wire to each amp from there or running two 4 gauge wires from the battery to each amp? also if i were to do either, what fuse type should I be using?

I would personally run a 1/0 to a dist block and then 2 4ga off it. I would say that 200 amp for 1/0 and then 100 for the 4ga.
wow thanks for the quick reply. so i would have to get separate fuses for each 4ga? knukonceptz seem to be out of stock on the 1/0ga amp kits.. are there any other places that you would recommend me checking out?
