powering amps

depends on the amp and the current it'll try to pull. If its too much current for the wire to handle it could, at worst, melt and cause and electrical fire in your car. Upgrade and be safe, use the 8ga. for short runs near the amp if necessary

i would upgrade to a 4ga or bigger IMO... better to have more and not needed than to need it and not have it

so basically using the 8 ga is defintly a no no just gave it a thought considerng they still basically put out the same power from alpine mrp m650 to mrd m605???
