hey guys quick question i currently bought a mono amp that requires 4ga wire on them but have 8 in my system is it still ok for me to hook it up? also have a capacitor just wondering if i can get away with it w/o changing my current wires? thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

depends on the amp and the current it'll try to pull. If its too much current for the wire to handle it could, at worst, melt and cause and electrical fire in your car. Upgrade and be safe, use the 8ga. for short runs near the amp if necessary

so basically using the 8 ga is defintly a no no just gave it a thought considerng they still basically put out the same power from alpine mrp m650 to mrd m605???
