power bass subs anybody ever heard of them i went to the dealer today and he is trying to sell me 2 12s ported box and 1200watt amp plus instlation for 585 is that good and r they any good

And for the most part they will suffice.

But for $585 they better be at least 2xl's.

not that good of a deal. the S series can be had for 50 bucks a sub, the amp i'm guessing is the 1200 powerbass that is the 600.2 i believe. that can be found for about 150 bucks if not less. u can get a box built for about 100 and install yourself. overall, i think that setup should be about 400 even if you're getting the shop to install.

yes. don't expect overwhelming sound quality, but they are cheap, and worth the money. if you get a decent ported enclsure built, any sub will sound decent. put those, or any sub, in a box sitting on a audio shop floor, and you'll be behind the curve. no sub sounds good in a prefab box, especially a lower cost sub.

Oh i understand that a company has to make a profit, so I see why they quoted him what they did. I'm also an advocate for the consumer as well. If I can help dude find the same stuff for cheaper, then I'll give opinion on how he can save a little.

thats actually something i was thinking around...breaking down the prices...which really ISN't outrageous...if you are unsure on how to go about doing things, this isn't really a bad deal.
