ok heres my problem. whenever i had my amp installed i kept blowing the distributioon fuse (the one up near the battery) well i got tired of it replacing the fuse and it keep blowing so i pulled out an old trick and wrapped it with tin foil. works great by the way. but anyway back to my problem. i didnt notice anything wrong with it until today.

i was working with my friends system and we decided to take a look at mine well i popped the hood and too my surprise this is what i saw"":

im not sure what did it or why but its been hooked up this way since about march or january. i dont know wether the cold weather or caused it or if it was about 2 weeks ago when i decided to see how loud my amp would get.

so heres pics of my setup so you know what im dealing with:

im not sure what gauge wire it is but does anyone know what size wire or what size distribution fuse i should get... and btw please please hurry.

foil over fuses = bad

you should always find the source of blown fuses. in your case it is either:

a)your amp is trying to pull more power than your fuse(and wire) is rated for, or

b)you have a thin/bare spot in your wire housing that is allowing an arc to the chassis of your ride from time to time.

when does your amp shut off? when you have the volume very high, or when you hit a bump on the road?

solutions:

if your amp shuts off(fuse blows) while you are blasting your music, you need to switch to a larger guage wire.

if your amp shuts off while you are playing dukes of hazard over speed bumps, you need to find where your wire is rubbing(prolly where is goes through the body into the cabin).

fix it right or get fire insurance on your car.

you leecher...^^

but anyway so 1/0 gauge wire. ok where do i get that at?

also shouldi run a bigger ground wire also cause of a bigger power wire. and also what size distro fuse should i get..... so many questions..
