power question...

If I am running two 200 watts rms subs and wire them parellel and use a 360x2 amp to power them, how much power would each sub be getting? Would they each get 360 or 180 a piece? I wanna provide the max rms power to my subs.

I am assuming that you are using the Rockford Fostgate Punch 360.2 amp. If the subs are dual voice coil, then wire each sub in parallel to it's own channel on the amp. This would give 180 watts rms to each sub (2 ohm load). If the subs are single voice coil and you wire them in parallel and then bridge the amplifier, then each sub would get quite a bit more power than 180 watts (closer 360 watts). This would yield 2 ohms bridged (same as 1 ohm). The Rockford amps are not recommended to be ran at 2 ohms bridged although I have heard that they will run fine. The Rockford amps are underrated and will prodice closer to 250 watts rms per channel at 2 ohms (non bridged). And by the way, there are no dumb questions. Most everyone here understands that.
