The half life of THC is usually 20 hours to 10 days depending on how a person metabolizes it. So somebody could get ripped, and still have half the level of THC in their system a week later...who knows how long it could have been in his blood.
This is why weed should not be legalized, there is no concrete way to test for its immediate impairment on drivers (roadsides are at the cops discretion, unlike a breathalyzer that is hard data).

That said, this idiot ran a stop sign, weed or not, he fukd up.

raise the age limit to drive to 18 like they have talked about for years.

sure there will still be stupid 18 years old pissed cause they had to wait but at least then they could have more driving time with a parent or whatever

thats why i said that we would just have pissed on 18 year olds getting their dl

they should start driving with parents at 16 and have to wait till they are 18 to get it

it would give them more time to learn. although there would still be idiots out there. hopefully less though

This is an example of another poor kid whos life will absolutley be ruined because of our unjust criminalization of cannabis. If you smoke you know that your not ****ing high at all for 2 ****ing weeks. We need to reform laws for this type of situation. Im not taking away from the fact that he killed people. All in all it was an ACCIDENT and that should be dealt with but not for intoxication reasons.
This hits home, last week I got in a car accident while working, Im a courier, and I failed my test for THC. It was a little fender bender. I have NEVER smoked before work or anything like that but everything in my life got turned upside down, just because I had metabolites in my ****ing system.

And what a ****ing terrible title. "Pothead driver..." Pothead you arogant ****? He smoked once....

He killed three people out of his own negligence, you fucking idiot.

it would not matter in the least what i, or anyone else in the world, would want as a result of this unfortunate incident. the only thing that matters is the judge/jury and the decision they arrive at.

So because this kid smoked weed, then 2 weeks later, runs a stop sign and people die because of it, he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison?

Yes. He deserves it because of the end result, not because he was high or had any in his system. He deserves it because he killed 3 people and a baby, accident or not the end result is the same and it wouldn't have happened at all if he wasn't speeding and blown through a stop sign at 66 mph. So yeah, at best he deserves life in prison. The parents of the dead should give his his due punishment instead.

Let me ask this--have you ever run a stop sign? Not cuz you were drunk or high, just cuz you missed the sign and blew through an intersection? If you said yes, then imagine a car hitting you in that intersection. Now you deserve life cuz people die in this wreck? Really?

I've never ran through a stop sign. If I was tripping on pot then yes, I would probably run over the stop sign and drive through a daycare.
