The half life of THC is usually 20 hours to 10 days depending on how a person metabolizes it. So somebody could get ripped, and still have half the level of THC in their system a week later...who knows how long it could have been in his blood.
This is why weed should not be legalized, there is no concrete way to test for its immediate impairment on drivers (roadsides are at the cops discretion, unlike a breathalyzer that is hard data).

That said, this idiot ran a stop sign, weed or not, he fukd up.

Ok. This incident is a shining example of what is wrong with our society. Not just the fact that weed is being blamed for the wreck. You weren't there, you can't say what the circumstances were. If the facts we've heard are true, weed had nothing to do with the accident. And guess what--it was an ACCIDENT. Anyone know what the definition of that word is? Exactly. And it also shows how ignorant some of our forum members are. Saying this kid deserves life for this. If it was your kid, would you want him to get life? No. And you can pretty much guarantee if he gets life he'll do more in prison than think about how much pot screwed up his life--he'll probably(time for another anti-pot saying) start shooting heroin cuz everyone knows pot is a gateway drug. Maybe I wouldn't want my kid to do life. But if my kid f*cked that bad and killed 3 people, drugs or not, I'd agree that they should be put away for life. If my kid was even caught getting high, I'd kick their *** and throw throw them out of the house.

Let me ask this--have you ever run a stop sign? Not cuz you were drunk or high, just cuz you missed the sign and blew through an intersection? If you said yes, then imagine a car hitting you in that intersection. Now you deserve life cuz people die in this wreck? Really?

raise the age limit to drive to 18 like they have talked about for years.

sure there will still be stupid 18 years old pissed cause they had to wait but at least then they could have more driving time with a parent or whatever
