My ex works at a bank and they used to get some really good fakes. Some would even have watermarks.

im pretty sure the federal govt has the power to completely stop printing our current currency and switch to a different currency at a whim, essentially making the dollar worthless.

well, just hold it up and look for the ribbon thing (if you look close enough it says the denomination)
