Nice! Usually people think I am Italian by my last name //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I am laughing about the "I **** at this class because I spent more time on this or that class"...that is telling me you don't have very good time management.
I'm sorry that I have a social life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
People are going to have better grades and all, but its all going to be for nothing when the others have absolutely NO social skills. I am an undergrad, give me a break.

At Poly or any other good university, there are two things you can do:

1. Shut yourself from society or

2. Sacrifice your grades a little and ENJOY life

Don't knock us for choosing the latter, after all we are paying for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Like I said, my B- in physics and C in calc are mostly because of my kidney infection during midterm week. I got low scores on both //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Why are you laughing? Some University students, including myself, are super involved and have a lot of commitments. Personally, I have ASOSU Senate, Fraternity stuff, UGC council, volunteering at a local elementary school, as well as volunteering with the SMART program. I also work 20-25 hours a week, AND on top of that, take 15 credits a term as a biology major, with a minor in chem and a minor in spanish. Somehow I still manage to maintain a 3.6 GPA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
So laugh all you want, but sometimes it's important to sacrifice an A in order to gain momentum elsewhere in your life.

Concord University, Best school in WV academically, and I have been told by many who transfered that CU is harder than VT, WVU, and many other larger schools

Im a triple major, Marketing, Management, and Computer information systems. I carry at least 18 hours a semester, am on a full academic scholarship and am an assistant to the Entrepreneurial studies program that takes up about 3-4 hours a week on top of classes

COM 101 Public Speaking: B

BUS 202 Human Resources Management: A

BUS 102 Fundamentals of Economics: D

CIS 101 Intro to Microcomputers: B (and I fix computers for a living!!!)

Funny story, Economics was the only class I went to every day. Not turning in homework that is 50% of your overall grade FTMFL!!! It was also the class I learned the most in... go figure.

Alls I got to say is f*ck homework and the teachers that make you turn that sh*t in.

I also work 40+ hours /week. I will be getting a degree but right now I'm young enough and make enough $$$ to relax and take only maybe 1 or 2 classes instead of 4 to be a full time student.

It is great that you are super-involved. Just don't make that your excuse for your grades. I never said they were low. A 3.6 is low to my standards, but I make GPA my top priority, not community involvement.

I work a full time job, and do some small community service projects here and there.
When I was an undergrad, I worked a full time job, a part time job, and still maintained over a 3.8.

What I am telling you, from professional experience is what are you going to tell your boss when you miss a deadline.

"Oh, well, I was doing community service and am super-involved" -- I am just against people making excuses for not executing in the class room. As for my B, I can explain it very easily, I am not smart enough for PhD level economics work. I did not have a good enough mathematics background to fully master the material. I failed.

If/when these programs pan out, then perhaps, you can say it was all worth it. I got my job through school and was recruited. I was not nearly involved as you are. But then again, I could care less about those things.
