Using the term 'post dumping' gives it an inherent negative view (no offense to OP, he was just using the term we all understand here). I am one of the only 2 people who voted it should be allowed. To me, if a person is offering a fair price, it should be easy to defend, and in fact in the past Ive used 'post dumps' as an opportunity to point out why my price was fair. You can get it on
ebay for 10 bucks cheaper? Fine, but will it come in pristine condition like the one Im selling. Or does the
ebay item come with the extra features Ive added? You think what Im selling is junk? Fine, let me explain better all the advantages to owning this particular item.
Sure, if someone is just trolling the classified to make trouble, action should be taken to discourage that person from continuing. But someone just posting "my cousin sold his cheaper" comments are so easy to pick apart that they really dont bother me much personally.
Im fine with the no post dumping rule, its premise is understandable: ethical behavior and common etiquette. Im just saying it wouldn't bother me a bit if the mods here lightened up on the rule some too. *shrug*
