Possibly a bad amp, need help

Ok, I'm having a problem with my audio system. Right now i have only speakers so I'm noticing some quirks and problems. They hiss constantly, wether the car is running or not. One of the four speakers makes a really weird noise that sounds kind of like a constant bassline or something. The other three just hiss. The two dash speakers NOT attached to an amp sound fine *except for bass response lolt they are only 3.5's* I've tried adjusting a cens level control to block out sound interference and it does not help at all. Its an avionixx 440.4 and i'm beginning to think its not a good amp at all. Anybody have any ideas?

try messing around with the ground on the amp. Try a different place to attach it. It might be a bad ground, or like you said, it could be a bad amp as well. Can you test another amp in the old ones spot?

i dont have another speaker amp, although i DO have a sub amp, it's class d so it only gives low tones though. would that still work? I'd just keep the gains set low?
