ports through rear deck?

i doubt im gonna do this but im gonna be redoing my trunk sometime in the next two weeks...

and been messing around with some ideas in my head...

but i was just wondering if anyones ever tried running their sub ports through the rear deck (or where their stock speaker location would be)?

people remove rear fill and run vents through

yeah i figured i just never seen one first hand and wasnt sure if it would sound like crap before i possibly put time and effort into trying this..

well im gonna be making my own box ect.. but i've never really done this before except for sealed..

i know about using port size calculators ect..

but port length would remain the same even if its sticking out a couple inches right? assuming you accounted for displacement..?

I'm going to do something similair, sort of like Rash's, except mine won't be angled like his is. I plan on having a single 4" blowing through in the middle of my rear deck, with my trunk sealed off from my cab and my subs firing into cab (much like Rash's.)

like I said before, w/ all that effort, you might as well go IB/trunkbaffle.

that is what i relaly wanna do (IB) but the way my trunk is, it would require so much work sealing it off from the rest of the car.. i was considering a large sealed box... around 4 cubes.. cause these subs in 1 ft cubed sound like they're being choked... i have them IB right now (just cut the back of the sealed box off) but its far from being sealed from the rest of the cabin... but they get much lower than the sealed... so i dont know what im doing yet =\
