Amp Mount

So Im wondering if its bad to mount an amp to the trunk lid...

I would have to be careful when closing it to prevent it from slamming, but other than that?

(I have a chevy cobalt... might look a lot like this)

it would be upside down.. meaning it would retain a lot of heat.. also how would you keep it attached? probably wouldn't be the best place... and like said before.. if you or someone forgets and slams it.. it won't be good for it..

x2 ...most likely the amp will over heat...If your looking for a show type install and were wanting to fill in the space to look nice....consider a monitor , custom etched lexan...shallow mount speakers run off deck power ....as a few options....but I wouldn't do the amp...If its a nice amp that you want to show off...look into other install options....so you don't mess the amp up...

what if i mounted it so that it would be on the back of the trunk lid, so when the trunk was closed (it wont fit entirely on the back so it'll have to angle slightly forward ... hard to fallow... it would sit kinda like this if the trunk lid was closed /

its not a matter of looking pretty... the amp is 11x20"... i want to comprimise as little of my trunk as possible... i want to be able to slide my snowboard through the seats if they are down, and the battery and spare tire are under the floor of the trunk, so the floor is out. to make a long story short, the walls are also spoken for so it was kinda between there and upside down on the rear deck...

couldn't think of anywhere else really... less the closing of the lid.. (i can be careful) do you think it would overheat if it were at an angle something like this / with the top of the amp on this side?
