ported vs sealed?

im getting 3 MTX T5512 subs, and ive got a memphis PRD1000.1 amp. I need a box for these things. I was pretty sold on a sealed box bc it fit in my car perfectly, i didnt think i could get a ported box for 3 subs, and the sealed looked pretty good too. But now i just looked at some ported enclosures, and found a triple hole ported box, and it fits in my car, but it cant be pushed back as far in my trunk, and doesnt look quite as good to me. i want it too look good, but i am mainly wondering if this ported box is really gonna get me THAT much better SPL. im really lookin for that more than SQ. so if a ported box is tuned correctly, is it really gonna kick the crap outta this sealed box? i dont know if anyone can tell, but can ne one give a rough estamation of DB increase with a ported box?

Tune relatively high, around 35-38Hz would be a good starting point.

and don't ask for an approximate db increase cuz that's impossible, but it WILL be louder to your ear if you tune to 35+

Depending on the volume you listen to, it can make a huge difference or a little difference. In my experience, at relatively low volume, ported and sealed are right about equal if the boxes are the same size.
