Ported Or Sealed???

Alright i might get 2 15L7 from my friend and i was wonderin what would be better to go with sealed or ported but, I drive a 1994 accord i dunno if i have enough room but dont care if it takes up the whole trunk. For a while i was thinkin of going with a custom fiberglass trunk but whatever makes its sound the best is what i want.Oh i also listen to rap and what would be a good amp to power them THanks in Advance......

Well i don't know how big the trunk is in your car, but your gonna need a seriously big box for both ported, probably at least 6cf-7cf for both. If i was you i'd just port one of em and i'm sure you'd be happy given a proper install. And it's kinda hard to choose an amp for ya if you don't tell us the VC config. D4 or D2?

if you are going for more of a sq set ui go sealed but you want crazy loud go ported.

ported they will perform alot better with more then 6-7cf for both, should run atleast 9cf for both, kicker recommends 6cf per sub. so 12cf is optimal

i had the l7 15's they get loud, but they really shine in a big box, mine was 9.5cf and they could have used more.

if your after SQ definantly go sealed

Which brings up another question, is your friend Giving you these subs? If so, thats hard to beat. If your paying for them i'd tell ur friend to shove it and buy some subs that don't need a 10cf box.......and wouldn't need near as much power. ( and sound good doing so )

Whoops Nevermind they are L7 12's 2ohm so how big of a box for ported then?

Probably about 6cf for both for the 12, if they are both d2, then the lowest you can get it down to into your amp is 2ohms, so you need to find an amp that puts out at least 1,500 @ 2ohms to meet the RMS of those subs......if they were d4 you'd have much easier time finding an amp. Or you could run 2 amps, one to each sub, in that case find a 1ohm stable mono amp that puts out between 700-1000 watts.

Are you paying for them? If so, how much?

ye he wants to sell em to me for 200 he had them for like 3 weeks he got new subs so i told he sell em to me what do yall think?

Did you even read what i told you?

If you buy those subs for 200, keep in mind your going to be spending at least twice that for amps/wiring etc..if you go the cheap route.

Do you have room for a 6 cubic foot box in that accord? Remember it's 6 cubic feet before port and subwoofer displacement. My 6 cubic foot box for my 2 12L7s measures something like 44x25x19 (don't take that to the bank, that's a guess based on the best of my memory). That's a BIG box - even in a Tahoe! I have 2000wrms going to my pair and sometimes I swear they act like they want more. These suckers are power hungry! Don't even waste your time with them unless you can feed them at least 1500wrms and put them in a proper enclosure. Brace the $&@# outta that box too!

get RL-ps or somthing similar..... somthing that performs well in a small box.... an accord cannot house 2 12 7s in optimal enclosures...... not unless u made it a 2...... o nvm a 1 seater then maybe u could do it!! haha anyway i would look into other options....

on a sidenote.... bholtmeier i have seen u posting alot latly..... is the CA.com fire back in ure blood!?!?!
