ported or sealed in an is300?

Ok guys the last car I owned that had a sub was an rsx and i had a ported box which was fairly large, and it sounded sick because the car was a hatchback.

Now with the is300 i'll be getting what sounds better in a sedan with a trunk, a ported box or sealed box?

I know both setups have there own advantages, i know that sealed is more for SQ and ported is more for SPL. but the question I have for those of you have expierenced this is your is300 or any sedan with an enclosed trunk, which sounds better a sealed box or a ported box? I'm talking with only 1 12in sub as well, pushing about 300watts. I dont want overkill but I dont want there to be barely any bass. I want something right in the middle, not to loud but enough bass to pound decently.

i like ported just tune it right and you will love it. I got a box if you want to buy it its a pretty sick box and makes anything sound good. PM me if interested.

thanks for the offer but ill pass, my friend has a ported and one kid has a sealed but there in suvs n such so its hard to compare.

i had a sealed a long time ago in a buick but dont really recall how it sounded, and i had the ported in the rsx, the ported box is alot bigger and id rather save soem trunk space by going with the sealed but i dont want to sarcrafice bass if theres a big difference between the to.

i listen to techno/trance and rap thats about it nothing else.

I don't have an IS300, but I have a 5 series with one 10 (.8cf) sealed off of 300-400w, and it hits suprisingly hard when pushed. So I'm willing to bet a 12 with the same amount of power will yield similar results. I would try a sealed first and see what you think though. I started out with ported, but it wasn't the sound I was after.
