ported or sealed for my l7?

i have a 12'' l7 2 ohm i just bout a couple months ago. i put it in my small sealed box which is the wrong enclosure but what can i say times were tough. now that the box is kinda deteriorating and its leaking air i need a new one asap. i am going with a bigger box but dont know if i should go sealed or ported. i've been told l7's are recommended for ported boxes only but i must say it sounds very good in my sealed box so im kinda leaning towards another sealed. btw its going in the trunk of a 2000 honda civic lx sedan which is not a big trunk at all.

If you liked the sealed, you could stay sealed, but I would put it in a well built ported enclosure and see how you like it. I think you'd like it...

does the fact that its in my trunk and its a small trunk make a difference weather its ported or sealed?

no, ported will be more efficent and will also be louder for the given power over the sealed. i vote for ported.

I also vote for ported!.it will get twice as loud than sealed..

true, could allways tune lower to help with the sq some.

if its sq your after, the l7 isnt the best choice imo.

IMO, if you buy an L7, you should port it, the sub was built for spl.

i was gonna say that l7 and sound quality shouldnt be in the same sentence imo.
