Ported for a sealed box

I have a ported box customized for a 12in JL audio W7.. i currently have the w7 but would like a sealed box instead of a ported one.. anyone willing to trade?

seat cushion foam from a fabric shop works great.

I did think about doing that but i relaly dont know how too..... would i just get a piece of wood and hammer/drill it to cover the port? Also can anyone tell me the differences in a sealed vs ported box... iv heard ported gets a louder sound but sealed is a better sound.
