Ported box volume

I know what the tunning does to the response curve but what about the volume? How would a sub perform in a smaller vs. larger box tunned to the same freq.?

And I need help with aero ports. Whats size and how many would I need to achieve 27hz tunning freq in with a .45 cube box. I dont want to make a vented box b/c after the port it would be too big to fit

as for the box size, I too was wondering the same thing.
